Bottle Babies
I love having bottle babies in the house. Ginger, the orange tabby, and Griswold, the black kitten, came to us when they were four days old. Their mother hadn't come for them all day.
Mistle was also found without a mom or any siblings when he was only a week old. He was very dehydrated and had us worried the first few days. We tube fed him since he wanted nothing to do with the bottle.
I have enjoyed watching their personalities blossom; Mistle loves to run, jump, and climb on things. He enjoys wrestling with Ginger and Griswold. Ginger is more mellow, I love watching him groom his cute little face. Griswold will play with Ginger's tail and feet when they are lounging in their soft bed.
We feed all of our kittens Breeders Edge kitten milk. Our kittens are healthier and weigh more when they are exclusively fed Breeders Edge. They don’t vomit it up and it doesn’t cause diarrhea!
They are now old enough to eat slurry. We really like Blue Buffalo’s Tastefuls Kitten Pate. It mixes great with the Breeder’s Edge Foster Care. The kittens love this pate. I do have to warn you that it is super smelly. Good thing the kittens slurp it up so you don’t have to smell it to long.
We will introduce them to dry kitten food in a few weeks. We have several favorite kitten foods. As a rescue, we mix our foods because we aren’t sure what their new family is going to feed them. This helps prevent stomach upset and digestive issues. We feed Purina One Kitten, Purina Kitten Chow, and Purina Kitten Chow Naturals.
